The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is the State of California’s department that is mandated to ensure the health and well-being of the people of California. Northern California is one of the areas that benefits from the health services offered by CDPH.
It spans the northern most counties stretching from the border of Oregon State in the north to San Luis Obispo County. Northern California’s primary population centers include the greater Sacramento area, San Francisco Bay area and the metropolitan Fresno.
The population density of the 48 counties that constitutes Northern California was estimated to be over 14.5 million people according to a 2010 census.
